Rural castles marks the landscape, remembering the middle age era, when this region was raided by many enemies. Lake Iseo heralds the Torbiere (peat moss) of Sebino, a natural reserve which is watched over by the impressive monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa. The fish in the lake have a particular taste exalted by a long gastronomic tradition.

We cross the Brianza region, between the lakes of Annone, Pusiano and Alserio. We travel through a large hilly area studded with noble residences. Finally, we go down to Como. The splendor of Broletto and the cathedral testify the ancient strength of this city, made lively by the pedestrian streets in the centre and in piazza Cavour facing the lake.

Ranco / Lake Maggiore

You leave Como going up a hill, soon you have lovely views of the city. A rolling landscape bring us to Varese, where we enjoy a visit to the town centre and a recuperative break in the grandiose park of Palazzo Estense. We pass the small lake of Monate before reaching the final goal of this week, the Maggiore lake, framed by Alpine peaks.
